Your Feed to Google News Time Line

Google News Timeline - what is it?

With Google News Time Line can your historical events, news and more information can view a timeline on. The whole is in a "beta" status - Google calls these experimental services, " Google Labs "

In the following example, I researched what was probably in Time magazine at the time of my birth?

The search results can be saved as a link. If you want to follow the traces of my timeline, simply click here .

The operation is relatively intuitive and the possibilities are intriguing. Just playing time around and let you display a number of magazines and newspapers from different eras. Here you can choose between monthly, weekly, or day view. Oh .... I've said it already? The whole thing is of course in English.

Besides the selection of sources and time, there is also a topic filter. In the screenshot you see, can be searched according to what types of information. Because it is currently in the headlines, I have to "recent photos from Iran" wanted:

You see, the possibilities are very diverse. But it gets even better!

Google News Time Line Using an RSS Reader

With a little trick you can also look at your blog on the time axis. This works the following pattern:

http://newstimeline.googlelabs.com/?subs=blog. feed address

Instead feed address is here, of course, the address of your blog. In the above example, my blog is linked.

Several blogs in the timeline

Finally, I would like to point out that it is also possible to display several blogs in the timeline. This is especially handy if you want to show, for example, your blogroll on the timeline and this may want to include in the blog. As a separator string is the% 2Cblog. So use:

Feed-Adresse2 http://newstimeline.googlelabs.com/?subs=blog. 2Cblog feed address 1%. Address2 feed

For fun I have here, once the feed heise, chip, PC World and the timeline presented in my blog. A superb example of limitless hubris ;-)

    Gimmick or not, I think it's great! Let us be honest, in almost all the bloggers, there is also a child game, because who tinkers and "tuned" from you and not away at his blog? ;)

    I think it's certainly interesting to be able to go on this way back in time. That's like how these birthday cards, drinsteht where, what on the day of birth is at that time so it all happens.

    The thing with the display of your own blogs, I think actually not bad. Is just something like the archive view, just only look a little different processed and searchable.

    So I like to play around with that a little :)

    was the time of my birth, the Time magazine - I think - yet not at all ... :-)
    Well ... and with feed readers, since there are so many programs and services. Do I still need something like there?

    So Gucky that Time magazine has not existed at the time of your birth, I doubt now, but times ... unless you are actually already older than 86 years - in which case you've certainly kept wonderfully ;)

    In some other blogs I've already written, but I want to apologize yet again for the late reply.

    This week was in the private and professional life very busy. I'm hardly come to the PC. Yesterday we had a "wet-happy" outing and currently is in our suburbs also Kerwe. Next week I will be sure to look here and you can have more frequently.

    Again, this Google service: Of course there is gimmick - but a very interesting gimmick. I think that (the somewhat unknown) Google News Timeline times quite worth a visit: I just wanted to make time on it carefully. Low Budget Stoep, when what was in the headlines - here and then maybe make a side trip times. The sources should also be extended at all times. As such the site is also in my bookmarks.
